These are explanations to the first quests of the Zakum run. In order to go through Zakum,
you must have done all three first quests. These faqs are not written by me but legally
obtained through knowledge of the writer. Credits to dtrmp4 and Rick (sauna.gibbed.us)

The AAAElites have yet to go through a successful Zakum run, we will update this page to the
fullest when we know that we may go through runs again, and attempt to sell the infamous zhelms.
Please do not spam the bbs, or anyone of recieving zakum helmets for free until we are certain
we have the ability to destroy zakum. We will then notify every guild member in-game.

1. Explore the Dead Mine (Level 1)

2.1 Main
--------------

This is the first quest that you will do. In order to start it, you will
need to be level 50. Before you go, talk to your 3rd job instructor in El
Nath and get his permission to go. Don't forget to do this. The road to
this quest is long and hard, you'll encounter a ton of enemies and will
be really hard for someone level 50 to do. Plan on going through Zombies,
Fly Eyes, Bains and Cerebes, so make sure you bring a lot of potions. I'd
reccomend using a Return Scroll for Dead Mine to get there faster, if you
don't, just walk through the long path until you get to the dead
mine...then continue walking until you get to a map called The Door to
Zakum. There's no monsters on this map. Just walk to the right until you
see Adobis. Talk to him and pick this quest. He will send you to the
Unknown Dead Mine.

A party is required, however members in it are not (you need to be in a
party, even if you're the only one in it). This quest may be harder if
it's your first time, so I'd recomend bringing a friend or two along.

When you first enter, you'll be in a mine map. You'll need to reference
this in order to understand the directions to get the seven keys that you
need. They're called "A Key of the Magic Box". You have 30 minutes to
complete the quest...GO!

You come in the map in front of map 9.

The map isn't completely accurate since some are a little higher than
others, but that should give you a pretty good idea of the layout.

2.2 Collecting
Items
--------------

You will need to collect seven keys, specifically called A Key of the
Magic Box. An optional part of this quest is to collect 30 scrolls,
specifically called Paper Document in order to get 5 Return Scroll for
Dead Mine, which will transport you to the first map of the mine.

You will need to bash chests and rocks with your normal attack to get
the keys and scrolls. You can also get potions and mesos from these
chests and rocks...but they can sometimes be traps and send you back to
the beginning or summon monsters called Mimic. Here are their stats:

2.2.1 Keys
--------------

The keys can be found in the following rooms (Example: 1-3 would be
found by going to the 3rd map in room 1)

16-3 (chest)
16-5 (rock)


When you find all the keys, give them to the party leader (or collect
them if you're the party leader). Then go to map 16-5 and in the middle
you will see a huge chest. Go to the chest and stand in front of it. Have
the party leader drop the seven keys in front of him, wait a few seconds
and a Fire Ore will pop out. Have the party leader take it and go back to
the main room and talk to Aura. She will ask if you want to leave, say
yes and your party will be rewarded with 20,000 EXP each along with a
Piece of Fire Ore which will be used later on in Level 3. This is all you
get, unless you decided to get the 30 documents...

2.2.2 Documents
--------------

The documents are scattered throughout the Dead Mine. There's a total of
31 of them in the mine, you need 30. Here's the list of them along with
how many are in the map:

When your party has a total of 30 documents and you've completed the key
part, give all of the documents to your party leader and have him talk to
Aura and leave like normal. In addition to the ore and EXP (Which is
30,000 if you get the maps insted of 20,000), each party member will also
get 5 Dead Mine return scrolls.

3. Observe the Zakum Dungeon (Level 2)
=======================================================

This one can is pretty simple to explain, not very simple to do :P

Talk to our old pal, Adobis. Talk to him and choose this quest. You'll be
transported to Breath of Lava <Level 1>. This is a horizontal jump quest.
If you fall, you will land in the lava and have to start all over again.
This map also contains Firebombs which you can kill, but will explode
when killed. Be careful. If you don't think you can complete it, talk to
Amon to exit.

Not over yet. Once you beat the first part, go through the portal and
start part two. This map also contains Lava and has the same overall
layout as the first part, but harder. Talk to Amon if you want to leave.

When you complete this part, talk to Lira and she will give you The
Breath of Lava which will be used in Level 3.

4. Request For a Refinery (Level 3)
=======================================================

Before you can start this quest, you must've finished parts 1 and 2 of
the Zakum quest since you will need the items you get from each of those
(Piece of Fire Ore and The Breath of Lava). Along with these items, you
will need to collect 30 Zombie's Lost Gold Tooth which are dropped by...

You can find these in the four Dead Mine maps. It shouldn't take too long
to collect the teeth, maybe an hour or so at max. Once you collect the 30
Golden Teeth, bring them and the other two items to Adobis. In exchange
for these, he'll give you five "Eye of Fire" which are used to summon
Zakum.

Congratulations, you've completed the three required Zakum quests, now
you can fight him...and get owned!

5. Fighting Zakum
=======================================================

Note: The Zakum map is extremely...what's the word...big I guess and a
lot of times, people will d/c from MapleStory before you can even summon
him, so make sure the people you're with have good computers and a decent
internet connection.

In order to fight Zakum, you must've completed the three previous quests
and have atleast one Eye of Fire. You don't need it, but someone in your
party does. Whoever wants to be brave and summon him, go and drop the Eye
of Fire in the center of the map on the platform. In a few seconds, the
strongest monster in GMS will spawn and, well, kill you.

So you actually want to fight him? These strategies should help :)

Heal -> Right physical -> left physical -> curse -> fire/poison -> Left
